Washington and Delaware vintage metal roofs

From the 1870s through the 1920s, this metal roofing shingles grew in popularity.  During this period, people favored flamboyant architectural statements as being fashionable. As a result, artistic designs imprinted into a metal roofing shingle complimented this trend.   

Fortunately for those who value our past heritage, some of these interlocking metal shingle roofs still exist, often in good condition.
